Each year, every organisation registered with the SNF (Foundation for Flexible Housing Standards) is subject to a random inspection. Organisations are informed 24 hours in advance about which locations will be inspected so that they can inform the residents well in time about the home visit of the inspector. The inspector always visits the home together with an employee of the organisation.
During the inspection, the inspector measures all the rooms (including the bedroom), beds, closets and windows to check that they comply with the requirements. The inspector only measures and does not ask the residents any questions; he also does not open any closets or drawers.
This inspection might be unpleasant for residents. However, it is in the residents’ best interest that the inspections are carried out properly.
